What you need to know about using both of these intense products

By Jim Stoppani, PhD

When I released my first revolutionary fat-burner, Shred JYM, many people wondered whether they could use it during the same day as Pre JYM.

To sum up the more detailed response in my Shred JYM Ingredient Breakdown, the answer is yes – with a few considerations, that is.

Now, with the introduction of my two most extreme products to the JYM Line, SS8 Advanced Fat Burner and Pre JYM X, not to mention my XS8 Stack, the same questions have been popping up…but the answer remains the same.

Jim's Key Takeaway Points

  • Aside from your personal tolerance and/or state of health, there’s no reason to be concerned about the amounts of caffeine or stimulants in Pre JYM X or SS8 Advanced Fat Burner individually.*
  • The forms in which these ingredients are provided may actually be more tolerable* for some individuals:
    • Pre JYM X’s Methylliberine (as Dynamine®) features a longer half-life, making for a more gradual effect with no crash.*
    • Pre JYM X also includes Theanine, which may help possible jitteriness with a calm, intense focus.*
    • Out of SS8’s 300mg of caffeine, 200mg is in slow-release form to support longer-lasting energy and fat-burning potential.*
  • Timing is the key factor involved in pairing these products, both in relation to your training as well as time of day.*

As I’ve said in the past, study after study has suggested that caffeine intake is largely dependent on tolerance.*

Should you take SS8 and Pre JYM X at the same time? No. To take them on the same day, you should always space them apart according to your training schedule, as I explain below.

Because of the way both Pre JYM X and SS8 were formulated, their effects and potential benefits are long-lasting by design.* So my recommendation for combining these two powerful supplements is simple: Don’t take them too close together, so as to get as much from them as possible while trying to avoid potentially unpleasant stimulant side effects.*

For example, if you train earlier in the day – say, first thing in the morning to just before lunch – use Pre JYM X as recommended before and/or during your workout. Then, take your serving of SS8 later in the afternoon. If, on the other hand, you train later in the day, start off with your serving of SS8 in the morning and then drink Pre JYM X before your workout in the afternoon or early evening.
