If you’re not enjoying the foods you eat, the drinks you drink, and the supplements you take, what the hell is the point?
You’re going to eat food that tastes like crap and choke down awful shakes just to get in shape and look great?
Not me! I’m going to be lean and muscular and enjoy my food.
People ask me all the time, “Jim, how do you stay so disciplined with your nutrition?” And they say things like, “I don’t want to deprive myself – you only live once!”
Who said anything about depriving myself? Everything I want to eat, I eat. I eat healthy, yes, but I also make sure that those healthy foods taste great so that I enjoy eating them. If I don’t enjoy a particular food, I don’t eat it. I keep looking for a healthy food that I love. And when I splurge with pizza or donuts, I do it strategically.
This is why I put so much attention into flavoring with Pre JYM, Post JYM, Pro JYM, JYM Bars, Iso JYM, and Plant JYM. Because I NEVER want to drink a pre-workout that tastes like s#!$ or chug a protein shake that’s chalky and gritty. And I’m sure as hell not eating a dense, dry protein bar.
If a new flavor of Pre JYM or Pro JYM (or any other product) that me and my team are testing doesn’t taste amazing, it doesn’t go out the door. It goes in the trash!
Every time I drink Pre JYM, Post JYM, or Iso JYM, I enjoy it as much as I would any sugary soft drink. It tastes amazing and is refreshing. Every Pro JYM or Plant JYM shake I’ve ever had tastes like a milkshake – it’s like I’m having dessert 4 or 5 times a day! And the JYM Bar? Sometimes I mistake it for a candy bar, even with its amazing, guilt-free macros.
Sacrificing taste for gains? Why? Never! I’m going to have both, and so should you.
Don’t settle. Enjoy your results, enjoy your gains, but enjoy the process of getting there with great-tasting foods and shakes.
