Stronger Bones, Stronger Muscles, Better Health*

JYM D3+K2 works in synergy with Pro JYM — a protein blend that contains over 400 mg of calcium, a critical mineral for bone health and muscle contractions —  to increase calcium’s uptake by the body. D3+K2 also offers the individual benefits of vitamin D (promoting immune and brain health) and vitamin K (heart health and blood clotting).*

Vitamin D3: A Vital Health-Promoting Vitamin

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that helps to maintain bone health by aiding calcium absorption and regulating the movement of calcium in and out of bone tissue. Without vitamin D, your body wouldn’t fully absorb the calcium present in the food and supplements (like Pro JYM protein powder) you consume. Vitamin D also helps your immune system fight off the germs that cause illnesses like colds and flu.*

Vitamin D is technically a non-essential vitamin because the skin produces it with exposure to the sun. It’s also contained in such foods as fatty fish. However, most people are deficient in vitamin D, which results in a number of health ailments (namely, osteoporosis).*

Vitamin D is available in two forms: vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol) and vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). Vitamin D3 is the more potent of the two, as it tends to be more readily converted to the active form in the body.

Vitamin K2: A Key Vitamin for the Blood and Bones

Vitamin K is a fat-soluble vitamin that plays a critical role in enabling certain enzymes in the body to function. Some of these enzymes help to form blood clotting factors, which are essential for preventing excessive bleeding. Other enzymes affected by vitamin K are important for fixing calcium in bones. Research has also suggested that vitamin K may be critical for testosterone production.*

There are two major forms of vitamin K: vitamin K1 (phylloquinone) and vitamin K2 (menaquinone). K1 is the plant form found in green veggies like spinach and broccoli. K2 is the animal form and is found in dairy, meat, organ meat, and eggs as well as bacteria. The difference between the two forms is that K2 has a chemical “tail” or side chain, which makes it the more bioavailable form.

D3+K2 and Pro JYM: The Ultimate Synergy

Calcium is one of the most vital minerals in the body, as it’s needed for healthy bones and muscular contractions. A lack of calcium in the diet can have devastating effects — namely, osteoporosis, but also extreme fatigue, muscle cramps, brain fog and other cognitive issues, and poor oral health.*

Getting adequate calcium in the diet through dairy sources (including the dairy proteins found in Pro JYM), leafy greens, and almonds is obviously important. But even when sufficient calcium is obtained through food and protein powder, it’s not always sufficiently absorbed, which can lead to deficiency. This is where vitamins D3 and K2 come into play, both of which help the body’s absorption of calcium to ensure it gets stored in bone tissue while also preventing calcium from being stored in the arteries, where it can lead to serious heart issues.*

JYM D3+K2 was created specifically to work with the abundant calcium found in Pro JYM to make sure this critical mineral gets where it needs to go in the body. In fact, the best time to take D3+K2 is when you’re chugging a Pro JYM shake. Perfect timing equals ultimate synergy!
