Rocky Road Pro JYM Recipes

ROCKY ROAD BROWNIE MUG

1 scoop Rocky Road Pro JYM
12g PB Fit
2 teaspoons cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Dash cinnamon
Pinch salt
1 tablespoon Walden Farms Pancake Syrup
1 large egg
1/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Combine all wet ingredients in a separate bowl and beat egg until incorporated. Add the wet to the dry ingredients and stir until there are no clumps in batter. Pour batter into a greased bowl and microwave for 60-90 seconds. Enjoy immediately.

ROCKY ROAD Pro JYM PANCAKES

3 large eggs
1 scoop Rocky Road Pro JYM
1 single serving container (170g) nonfat plain Greek yogurt
1 ounce almond milk
1 teaspoon baking powder
Dash cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and whisk together. Cook on a greased griddle or pan like regular pancakes.

35g almond flour
20g coconut flour
1 scoop Rocky Road Pro JYM
100g low-calorie ice cream (weigh out frozen), chocolate, peanut butter, vanilla, or flavor of choice
1 large egg
70g egg whites
30g Walden Farms Chocolate Syrup
4g stevia
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dash cinnamon

1. Preheat the oven to 350º. Mix coconut flour, Pro JYM, stevia, baking soda & powder, and cinnamon in a bowl. Sift through a strainer into another bowl. Whisk in almond flour.

2. In a separate bowl, beat egg and egg whites. Add in Walden Farms and vanilla. Melt your ice cream in the microwave. Let it reach room temp if it gets a little warm. You don't want to add warm ice cream into your egg mixture and have them start cooking.

3. Pour wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Slowly combine the batter, be careful not to overbeat or it will affect the consistency of the donut and toughen up the batter. The batter should be pretty thick (like brownie batter) to where you have to spoon it into the donut pan rather than pour it.

4. Spoon batter into greased donut pan. Bake for 8-9 mins. Donut over bake. Seriously though, they will continue to cook after you pull them out. Let sit in the pan for a few minutes before moving to a cooling rack. Ice when completely cool.

5g melted butter
Milk for desired consistency

The Science Behind Pro JYM

For years, whey protein was King.

That's because studies showed it was one of the easiest ways to trigger a massive spike in muscle protein synthesis, or MPS—the process through which muscle tissue repairs and rebuilds itself. Then came along casein protein, which delivered a smaller spike in muscle protein synthesis, but one that lasted for much longer.

Trainers would use whey protein during the day, especially around training, and casein protein at night to preserve muscle during sleep.

Do I really need a protein powder?

There’s no escaping the fact that protein intake is a key factor in muscle repair and growth. Whether you want to add serious mass or simply “tone up” (which is really two processes, building muscle while losing fat to reveal it) it’s important to ensure you’re getting enough protein in your diet.

When it comes to protein sources, dairy protein is actually one of the most anabolic—meaning it has the biggest impact on muscle tissue. But an 8oz serving of milk only contains 8 grams of protein, of which 20% is whey and 80% is casein. Pro JYM not only delivers 24 grams of protein per serving, but also a better balance of whey and casein for triggering the desired spike and duration of MPS.

Aren’t protein powders just for bulking?

The idea that protein powders are only for bodybuilders trying to pack on massive amounts of muscle is a common misunderstanding. Why should I use a protein blend instead of just whey?

Can I take Pro JYM if I’m lactose intolerant?

Why doesn’t Pro JYM include digestive enzymes like some brands?
